A visit to Paris for the first time can be amazing. There are so many places to see: Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower, Versailles, and many more. It's a true historic place to see.

It is a must to visit the Louvre, but remember to allow enough time. The Egyptian exhibit is great and then you also have all the paintings. A suggestion would be to decide on what you would like to see and then keep to that; otherwise, you will run out of time.
This is a great experience because you can see why the people revolted against all the money being spent by the royal court. There are many tours that you can go on, but the grand apartments and the gardens are a must. One can spend a full day at the chateau.
Bring a flashlight to walk through the former Roman quarries that housed Christians during the eighth century, soldiers of the French Revolution, and both Résistance fighters and occupying forces of World War II. The underground tunnels, created by the gypsum and limestone extracted below ground level to build Paris, were used to dump bones from the city's cemeteries in the late 18th century and from that time, the Catacombes became cult places to hold secret concerts and parties. Don't wear your best shoes!
