Key West Time

We love the atmosphere of Key West and the "live and let live" attitude of the people that we have met here. Our favorite place to stay is The Frances Street Bottle Inn and our favorite place to eat is La Trottoria.

We love the atmosphere of Key West, and no matter how many times we return, we find something new. Highly recommend a visit to "Nancy's Secret Garden" and the romance of watching the sunset at Fort Zach Tayler Park.${QuickSuggestions} Be sure to check the Key West calendar of events and try to reserve a room for a few days so that you will be in town for one of these fun "all-town" parties.

Also, see if you can get tickets to one of the shows at LaTeDa--we have seen some great entertainment here.${BestWay} Walk, walk, walk. Don't bother with a car. Take a taxi from the airport to your inn. Check in and then start walking. If you really feel the need for wheels, then rent a bicycle. If it is your first time in Key West, I would recommend taking the Conch Train ride. It will provide a way to see many of the neighborhoods and get an idea of the architecture.

I love this place. The rooms are always clean and well appointed. Most of the rooms have their own outside seating areas (all have private baths). Delicious breakfast buffet and wonderful fun in the evening at the happy hour. This is an old historic building that was once the setting for a television show. One of the features that I find so appealing is the big front porch--I love sitting here having a cold drink after having been out all day. The staff are probably the best in Key West. They remember you from visit to visit and are very helpful making arrangements and/or recommendations. Mary Beth is the owner and she is on-site and is always available to answer questions. It was she who recommended what is now my favorite restaurant. I have stayed other places in Key West, but this is the place that I will always return to. The Inn is near enough to everything, yet far enough removed from the noise of Duval St. that you can get a good night's sleep. Another thing that I like about the Inn is that it has some beautiful locally painted furniture in it--so much more fun to see something so out of the ordinary.
