Best Things About the Resort:

Resort Experience:
We were given a guest certificate week at the Stardust Resort in Lake Tahoe from my mother-in-law as a honeymoon present. We had our wedding the weekend before in Kingsbeach on the north shore, so this was convenient, as we wanted to stay on the south shore for the next week. We stayed in June and the weather was great, but it’s always nice in Tahoe. My mother-in-law stayed there a couple days at the beginning of the week in a studio-sized room. When we came, she asked if we could upgrade and they were more than happy to oblige. We enjoyed our stay there. They had a bicycle tour, free internet, donuts, and coffee in the mornings.

There was daily linen service. The room had a TV, VCR, and radio. There was a kitchenette with everything that you would need: pots, pans, dishes, utensils, single stove, microwave, and fridge. They have a pool. All the staff was very friendly and helpful with any sightseeing questions. There are shuttles to take you to the different casinos. The beach is in walking distance. This is not like staying at the Hilton, or a hotel like that. If you are looking for a comfortable stay, this is a good place.

This buffet is really a great deal. The brunch on Saturday runs 8:30am-2pm. It is $13.99/person and really worth it. The food selection is HUGE and delicious. There is an omlet maker and lots of different toppings to choose from. The restaurant is on the top floor and the view is spectacular.

Chevy's Fresh Mex

Chevy's Fresh Mex Restaurant is a nice place for decent Mexican food at reasonable prices. They have outdoor seating, which is a little crowded, but on a nice Tahoe day, it's too hard to not sit indoors.

Emerald Bay State Park

Emerald Bay is a beautiful and scenic area. It is a must see if you are on the southern shore. We have been to Emerald Bay many times and we never get tired of seeing it. Vikingsholm Castle is on the shore of Emerald Bay. There are daily tours every half hour from 10am - 4pm from June - Labor Day.

Vikingsholm can be reached by parking in the Harvey West parking lot by Highway 89 at Emerald Bay. Take the trail, which is one mile in length and drops 500 feet in elevation to the house.

Fannette Island is located in the bay of Emerald Bay and is the only island in Lake Tahoe. For more information, you can check this website and look for Emerald Bay State Park.
