Lake Tahoe in the Winter

Lake Tahoe in the winter is most beautiful! The snow was thick and untouched -- it looked like whipped cream on the mountains.

Best Things Nearby:
A relaxing town with a cute mountain village theme. Incline Village has small town shopping such as tourist theme shops but also your basics. supermarkets with Pharmacy, fast food such as Subway and taco bell and finer resturants and Mom $ Pop resurants. The Ski Lodges and mountains such as Mount Rose is only 10 minutes away with Reno an added 20 minutes away, and Carson City less than that. "The Ponderosa"T.V. show filming set is available to visit during the summer hours. South Lake Tahoe with it's many extra's in shopping and resturants and casino's is 30 minutes away and a beautiful drive along the Lake Shoreline with many breath taking views of this clear and picture taking opportunities. Another ski lodge "Northstar Resort" is 15 minutes away along the north side of the lake and its many other resturants and shopping and more beatiful picture moments. The lake route scenic drive takes about 1 hour to tour in the winter time. The mountains reflect in the clear lake waters.

Best Things About the Resort:
Location, size of condo, great extras. In less than 20 minutes you can visit many of the resorts. They also have shuttles running to all of them hourly. This end of the Lake has everything you need within 5 minutes and walking distance of the resort. The mountain theme and paths thought the pine trees especially with snow every where makes this resort especially beautiful. they keep all paths clean ready for adventure.

Resort Experience:
The condos are very spacious, clean, and have everything. The Lodge is fun with activities planned nitely and many other things to do. Pools, tennis, poll tables, spa, large TV with movie nights, barbecue, and bar and the staff most helpful. The location is great for many lake activities. I would stay here again!

What a view! You must get a window seat here! Come early for the line can be long and you want the window! You're on the 19th floor (I think) and you can see the whole South Lake area. The food is buffet-style with everything you can imagine -- great, wonderful food. Service great too. Come ready to eat -- it's a little pricey if you don't eat your fill. But don't leave South Lake without at least going up to see the view from here if you're not at the top of Heavenly with a better one.

Rustic Mountain Lodge atmosphere is beautiful with long bar. Specialty drinks on the menu. Steak, hamburgers, seafood, salad (salad bar called the 8-foot-long salad bar) -- everyone in our group of 10 was happy with their meal. Don't miss this place for a romantic dinner for two either. The atmosphere is rather dark with romantic lighting in the booths. Beachside/lakeside location is fabulous especially for a walk along the beach after you've filled yourself on the great food.

The kids loved Heavenly! They enjoyed the runs, the views, and the lifts. The snow was melting, but otherwise with good snow the place to be!! They can't wait to return and just ski Heavenly in Tahoe!

You have to pay to take the lift to the lodge even if you don't ski (which I don't) -- I go to relax and take in teh many beautiful views!

The many parking entrances are confusing when it's your first time.

Northstar was a perfect family ski resort. I don't ski and there was lots of shopping and atmosphere to keep the non-skier busy. Northstar is better for the non-skier than Heavenly. More dining choices than Heavenly. The kids loved the snowboard park, but it was busy the day they went.

The resort faces Reno Nevada, in fact Reno is 20 miles away! It has several lifts with two sides. The lodge and bar are very affordable and everyone is a great help with customer service. Great prices for lifts with specials on weekdays.

We had a special experience and saw extreme sportman Mike Metzger flip 360 on his motorcycle for the first time on the mountain and he was great about autographs and pictures. Good day at the mountain!
