Wild Vegas Spring Break

Our trip to Vegas was wild! We stayed at The Cliffs at Peace Canyon and the best part about it was it was 10 minutes off the strip!

Highlights in Vegas included dancing the night away at the beach and dancing on the bar at Coyote Ugly (New York, New York). Showgirls and Skintight were must-see shows.${QuickSuggestions} Valet. Alway valet park. You only have to tip them $1 or $2 and it's much easier than looking for a spot and walking. Don't waste your time with AdventureDome. Even some kids would think it's boring.${BestWay} If you drive there to begin with, drive and valet park. It's easier and quicker than the monorail, the trolley system, and walking. Definitely cheaper than taxis.

Best Things Nearby:
Nothing. That was actually the best thing. It's 10 minutes away from the craziness of the strip.

Best Things About the Resort:
Being 10 minutes away from the strip. Close enough to go for entertainment, far away enough when you want to stay away.

Resort Experience:
It's a converted apartment complex with nice furnishings. The pool/spa area is nicely lit at night when we finally got to use it at 3 a.m. The computer room with DSL hook-up is free for guests, but there were little kids playing computer games all the time. Tuesday's 50-cent hot dogs and sodas was a nice budget-thing for an afternoon snack before you go out to one of the buffets.

Gonzalez y Gonzalez

If you like Mexican food and is on a tight budget, Gonzalez y Gonzalez inside New York-New York offers great Mexican dishes for a low price. My wife and I had full entrees and a drink each for less than $40. The atmosphere is cool with patio dining and the Manhattan Express flying overhead. You can also feel the casino inside the restaurant with the noise, the people and, oh, of course, the smoking.

My wife got wild at Coyote Ugly after she met up with some girls downstairs at the Big Wheel. The pretty bartenders dance on the bar and pour the ladies in the club shot after shot. Women are encouraged to join the Coyotes on the bar for dances while the men watch in amusement. There were lots of pretty women there and it wasn't really crowded. You can get free cover if you sign up for the Players Club. Long Island Ice Teas were $10 for a small cup, but worth the view.

The Beach

We kicked off our week at The Beach on a Sunday night when it was supposed to be jamming because it is ladies night then. There were definitely more ladies than men that night after the place finally got going after midnight. The place was dead at 10:30 p.m.; that's why they offer free drinks to ladies.

The VIP cover charge includes two water-downed "FREE" drinks. Don't buy the body shots unless you don't mind pissing away $20 to lick whipped cream off stuck-up, skinny, only okay looking bartenders. With that said, the party scene and the music was worth the trip to check out The Beach.

Adventure Dome

We walked through the place and were glad we only spent 15 minutes there. It was definitely just a place to unload your little kids so you can go to the slot machines. Avoid the place unless you like dumb video games and kiddie rides. The air hockey machines take your quarters and won't let you play games. Not much of an adventure inside the dome.

Showgirls

Get a two-for-one ticket to see Showgirls and Skintight (on separate nights). For a couple you can see both shows for the half price of about $80...and that's worth it. Showgirls was an entertaining show featuring showgirls dressed in different eras with music throughout the past 80 years. The Stars, three pretty women singing and joking, were the best part of the show. They are pretty good singers and performers for being a Las Vegas act.

Skintight

We bought two for one tickets for Skintight and Showgirls at the Rio and they were worth the $80 for the two of us for both shows. Skintight features many pretty girls with great bodies and Shannon O'Keefe of Playboy. O'Keefe was actually the least pretty one of the group.

We had front row seats and were part of the show when Pougdy came out and entertained the crowd....you will have to see the show to see what this meant. Skintight also had male dancers and they were good too. This show had the best dancers and the most energy of the shows we saw this week.
