Sarasota---Christmas to New Years

My family vacationed in Sarasota. The Gulf of Mexico was not warm enough to swim but it was pleasant to walk along the shore picking up seashells and flying a kite. We were impressed with the Ringling Museum and Park. We enjoyed our visit at the Aquarium.

Best Things Nearby:
We are so glad we visited the Ringling Museum and the aquarium. The Beach was perfect.

Best Things About the Resort:
The beach was beautiful and seashells were washed up onto the shore all the time. The swimming pool was delightfully warm.

Resort Experience:
One of the delights of our stay was the crane that visited the resort. Our unit was very clean, quiet, and the folks were very kind. From most units, a view of the ocean was not available. The one thing we regret not doing is exploring the area on bicycles that were available from the resort. The activities that were planned were fun, especially the hot dog lunch (even in the rain). Local shopping, such as a grocery store, was five miles away and hard to find. Local shopping was mostly specialty shops.

Best Things Nearby:
Sarasota and its many entertainment activities.

Best Things About the Resort:
Laid back -- Anna Maria Island, where shorts and flip-flops are considered dressy attire.

Resort Experience:
The day begins and ends on the beach. This is a place of chaise lounges, cool drinks and plenty of suntan lotion. So leave your watch at home. The beach is here. The pool is here. The sun is waiting. AND if you feel like a steak dinner with all the trimmings, you can always stroll over to a nearby restaurant and watch the waves roll in while your order is prepared. So whether your idea of the perfect vacatation is strolling the Holmes Beach or clowning around Sarasota with the kids, it is all at your beck and call.
