Dizzy at Disney

As you touch down in Orlando, you can feel the excitement build with the anticipation of what your week(s) will bring. The air is alive with excitement, (and people). The palm trees wave in the wind and you can see bodies of water everywhere.

Best Things Nearby:
Many restaurants and Disneyworld.

Best Things About the Resort:
Our unit was gorgeous. They offer many varied activities and amenities.

Resort Experience:
All I can say is WOW! OLCC is so large, you cannot walk around it. They offer a shuttle service that will take you around the resort every hour. They have more activities than I have room to list. Our unit was in the East Village and was huge. It had a balcony that overlooked the golf course. In the evening, we could see the fireworks at Disney. They have numerous pools, including a waterpark area called Splash Lagoon with a waterslide, they have miniature golf, tennis, ping-pong, watersports on their own lake and beach, shuffleboard, golf, etc.

Our unit was immaculate and well-maintained. We had a full kitchen and washer and dryer. The master bath had a large Jacuzzi tub with separate shower.

The resort backs up to Disney property and is a quick 10 - 15 minute drive on the road. They have two entrances, both of which have security guards. The grounds are beautifully landscaped.

You can very easily and happily spend an entire week without ever leaving OLCC. If you are not in the mood to cook, they offer a convience store and numerous casual and nice restaurants on site.

Pizzeria Uno

It all started in Chicago and spread west. Pizzeria Uno is a casual place that frequently runs coupons or offers deals on kids meals. There are locations in various areas around the Orlando area (about five or six). They offer everything from pizza to steaks, but you can't beat their Chicago deep dish pizza. It is loaded with toppings. They offer take-out meals and eat-in. They have great lunch specials. Service is quick and friendly. The food is fantastic.

Baskervilles

We were looking for a less expensive character breakfast that required reservations of less than 30 days in advance and found it here. They are upstairs in the Grovenor Hotel. We had our choice of the buffet, which I think ran around $13.95 for adults and less for children, or we could order off the menu for less. We chose the buffet. The food was mediocre, but the ambience made up for it.

The characters were Pluto and Goofy. They made the whole visit worthwhile. They went around to each table and spent quite a while with everyone. They signed autographs and posed for pictures. They even stopped at the adult only tables. I would recommend the character breakfast, but order off the menu. The buffet is not worth it. There is very little variety.
