Viva Las Vegas

During spring vacation, my family went to Las Vegas to see the sights.

The sights were great. Almost everything is free, which is always good for the budget. We even go to see a very family friendly comedy act for the mere price of two drinks ($7 total) each!!

For the family, I highly recommend the Adventure Dome at Circus, Circus. The kids LOVED it!! When the kids are happy, everybody is happy.

The buffets are also awesome. Though it is priced a little higher than most, the lunch buffet at Bellagio was worth every penny. The lunch is exactly like the dinner buffet, but lower priced.${QuickSuggestions} We rented a van for two days and took day trips to the Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, and Red Rock Canyon. The Hoover Dam is a 1 hour drive each way and the Canyon is three hours. Red Rock is about 1 hour west and was incredible. The whole family was climbing all kinds of rocks and crevices.${BestWay} If you are not going to make any trips out of the city, do not rent a car. You will definitely get a good deal of exercise walking the strip, but you are able to see so much more.

Very nice accommodations. We had two families (4 adults, 4 kids) in a two bedroom and was still quite comfortable. One room had a king and the other room had two queen beds. The other two kids were on a pull out couch. The pool area was very nice and clean along with a game room. The in-house store and concierge greatly enhanced our experience.

Bellagio Buffet

Every cuisine was available - Chinese, Mexican, American, Italian, Seafood, and more!! Desserts were unbelievable. They were more like what you would expect at a fine restaurant, not a buffet. The seafood was extremely high quality and fresh, unlike any other buffets we ate at. The choices were not standard by any means. The acorn squash ravioli was a wonderful surprise for the palate.

Much like a fair, but with better rides. The roller coasters and adventure rides were longer and more thrilling. It included midway attractions, but at an additional cost. There were plenty of kiddie rides and less adventuresome rides that were just as fun for the kids.

This is a wonderful state park. Our family climbed on rocks and through crevices for hours. We did not want to leave but had to because the park was closing.
