Nice Hotel with Casino

Both are located in Georgetown, the other is the Pegasus. Upon driving up to the hotel there is a nice fountain in front of the hotel with 4 or 5 sprayers shooting water in the air. On walking in the most imporessive part of the lobby is a very detailed ceiling a large chandelier. The ground floor has three elevators which will take you to the 2nd through 6th floors which hold the guestrooms. If you remain on the ground floor you will go out the back doors onto the pool area as well as the restaurant. The pool is large and well maintained. There is a bar area next to the pool by the entrance to the restaurant. The restaurant holds complimentary breakfast buffett daily including scrambled eggs, ground provisions, pancakes, sausage, cereal, fresh fruit and juices. The bar has a menu as well ranging from chicken and fish sticks to fresh fish entrees with mixed vegetables. The food was average but very affordable. The prices range from $5 to $15.

The rooms are decent. Both double and king beds available. The floors were tiled and the beds were comfortable. Small, 19inch, tube televisions in each room with basic US cable. A friend's room had bedbugs so beware. No problems in my room. Nice small balcony but in the back of the hotel not much to look at.

The best part of the hotel is the casino. On the ground floor you can gain entry into the casino. The casino is open until 4 am. The casino is for out of towners only. Local Guynese are not allowed in the casino. They will accept American money at the casino and cash back up to $1000 as well. The exchange rate is 200 Guyanese to 1 US dollar. This made for easy gambling as the usual red, green, and black chips were the same value in the US ($5, $25, and $100) just after the exchange they are $1000, $5000, and $20,000 Guyanese dollars.

The staff at the hotel is friendly and quick to help. My friend with the bed bugs had here room changed immediately. Overall, much better accomadations then I was expecting. Close
