Description: I was in town for a late afternoon meeting, so with the roughly five hour (one way) drive, an overnight was necessary. I was fortunate to be able to find this gem of a hotel very convenient to my business plans.
The hotel sits roughly 200 yards from the banks of the Mississippi River, with rooms on the western side of the building enjoying a very pretty view. My room was near the top floor, so I had an especially nice scene outside my window.
Upon arrival I was greeted by a friendly front desk staff who were very prompt in getting me checked in and familiarized with their available dining options.
In my room, it was spacious, well appointed, clean and comfortable. There was a nice work area desk that was well lit and complete with free WiFi. Of course, this being a Radisson Hotel, there was the standard sleep number bed . . . which generally speaking, I find to be more of a hassle than they are worth.
The bathroom was also a decent size with good lighting. The toiletries were first class and worthy of using during my stay.
If you are a frequent traveler who stays with Radisson, they have their Plaza Club Level which was a nice benefit. In the evening they offered complimentary freshly baked cookies and milk and in the morning a rather extensive continental breakfast complete with an assortment of juices plus coffee and tea.
There was also a fitness workout room and indoor pool, although I really didn't have the time to utilize either.
I did dine at the hotel twice, once for room service in the evening and then the following morning for breakfast. See separate review on those experiences.
This hotel is right in the downtown area of the city. I'm told there is a lot to see and do, with other dining options nearby. I look forward to returning to La Crosse again so that I can hopefully take in a bit more of what the city has to offer.
