On my way back from the Koforidua beads market I met some German guys at the station, who were heading for ANANSE VILLAGE, a small guesthouse and cultural centre about 45 minutes drive from Koforidua. The place is on a hill, about 10 minutes hike from the main road, there's a nice clea stream running and... is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I have seen in Ghana. They have 5 rooms (but you can rent a tent as well) with outside toiletts and shower, a big summerhut/restaurant and the kitchen . Nearby there's a KG that has been built last year thanks to the support of a small Italian ngo. People going there are either drumming students (the owner is a great drummer and teacher), back packers or volunteers coming to work some weeks/month in the KG or in the village school. Surely worth a visit for the environment, the company the magic of the place!!!!
