Located in the San Blas area of Cusco, this hotel was very clean and less than a 5 minute walk to Plaza de Armas. For a budget accommodation with very friendly service, I would highly recommend the hotel.
It is a little overwhelming arriving in Cusco, so it was great that the hotel had someone to greet us at the airport. Upon leaving the baggage claim, one is bombarded by hundreds of tour guides, taxi drivers, etc. There was someone waiting for us with a sign right by the exit. The guy who picked us up at the airport tried to get us to purchase a package to Macchu Picchu, which because of our student status (large discount) was not a good deal for us at all. I would think twice before booking any tour package through the hotel as much better bargains are available. If you want a private guided tour, the package might be worth it though.
The hotel also provided us with a complimentary mate de coca (a type of local tea that helps with the altitude adjustment). I believe it's standard practice in the city, but nonetheless, it was a nice welcome.
The rooms are very sparse, but very clean. I would recommend getting a bathroom in ones room, as it isn't that much more. The hotel also rents space heaters, which are only around $5 per night and definitely worth it as Cusco can get very chilly at night.
