Description: The best thing about this hotel was its location away from all of the touristy hub-bub in the downtown main street area. It is located about a mile away and very conveniently along the river.
We had a room with two queen sized beds as David's mom was travelling with us. I found them to be rather comfortable for a budget type hotel. The pillows however were on the skimpy side so we were all happy we were traveling with our personal pillows too.
On the top floor, our view from the balcony was nice. Inside, there was a lovely wood burning fireplace with plenty of chopped wood outside on the balcony. Our room also had a small dorm sized refrigerator as well as a microwave.
I felt it was also very nicely furnished including a desk with chair along with two more chairs in a small sitting area. Cable TV and free WiFi internet made for a very relaxing evening before bedtime.
I should report that the front of our room faced the main road which seemed to be very busy with lots of loud cars and Harley's cruising up and down. I woke up around 1:00am from the traffic but was able to fall back asleep relatively easily.
In the morning, they feature their "Day Break" breakfast which was a bit on the disappointing side. Krispy Kreme donuts were available along with cereals and an assortment of breads for toast. Coffee and juice rounded out the free breakfast, which we ultimately took a pass on. Having eaten all of our breakfasts in our timeshare unit for a week, we were ready for some good down south home cooking.
I booked this room via AARP's online travel service for $89/night. About a week before our trip we had considered making it a two night stay here, but when I checked back for a Saturday reservation, the rate had jumped to over $150 so we just stayed the one night.
