We found this place through the Tourism Office in Zanzibar and it surpassed our expectations. We had a cozy little Beach front house that was very clean and had great views of the ocean. This hotel has a wonderful garden and we spent many an hour watching the variety of exotic birds fly by our doorstep! The owners are very community oriented so we got to meet local villagers and even choose the fish from the fishermen that we would eat in the restaurant. GREAT FOOD! The restaurant was truly one of the highlights of the trip. There is a lot to do here and the owners were very kind in giving suggestions of things to do and setting them up for us. The price was $55 a night with a great breakfast every morning (included) and seemed to be a very good deal in reference to other similar hotels in Bwejuu. There are a lot of small things at this place that made it special: There are games available like Scrabble and cards and a book they have made of photos of the local fish. Small touches that really added to the experience. This was a great place for us to relax after a safari and this beach is much less touristy and less crowded then the North of Zanzibar which was a disappointment to us.
