Description: WELCOME home was exactly how we felt from the moment the innkeeper, Joan Foster Schneider greeted us at her Point Breeze Bed and Breakfast in beautiful St. Michaels. With just 2 bedrooms, the Bed and Breakfast has a fantastic location at Harrimans Cove on the St. Michales Harbor and the Miles River. The views are terrific from many vantage points and seating areas of the home which is lovingly furnished with family furniture and the family's Scottish ancestry on display. Joan pointed out several pieces of beautiful wood furniture made by her father. Most enjoyable was having breakfast at a small table in the screened in porch with ceiling fans cooling the air while overlooking the harbor. The same night after dinner we enjoyed a beautiful sunset as we watched the boating activity from the dock. The mid-week stay at $150 a night included gourmet breakfast. Note no credit cards are accepted but you can pay by cash or check. The breakfasts were the best of all the Bed and Breakfasts that we have visited. Breakfast one morning was eggs benedict and another morning a very light and tasty German pancake-egg dish with fresh made lemon curd giving this dish an unusual twist. A sausage patty was served as well. Each breakfast included fresh fruit, juice, coffee and/or tea. Fruits and a homemade banana bread/cake were set out to help yourself anytime and a wet bar with ice maker with complimentary sodas. Several comfortable seating areas were available to sit and read, watch tv, enjoy the view or visit with fellow travelers or just sit. We felt very comfortable walking throughout the house; felt like home.
Our Duck themed room with queen bed was comfortable, clean and roomy with a walk in shower and had an extra day bed and ceiling fan, large closet.
The second large bedroom had a bath just steps away. We prefer a bath in the room. All rooms on the first floor.
The wonderful experience at Point Breeze was exactly what we expect at a Bed and Breakfast stay. We even received a personally written thank you note upon our return home from Joan. She was helpful with recommendations of the area sites including a recommendation to The Chespeake Landing Restaurant, a local favorite which we had already discovered on an earlier visit to St. Michaels. The innkeeper was a perfect hostess spending just the right amount of time visiting with us throughout our stay. We were curious about her life-story (as much as you can learn in a day or so) as she was about hearing from her guests as well. We enjoy the great experiences at Bed and Breakfast stays.
