A Little Slice of Heaven

We were lucky enough to find this little Coral Coast gem when we were looking for a location for our wedding, not only did they reply the fastest but also had the best pricing and we loved the look of how natural, simple and relaxed the resort looked.
Claire made the whole planning process unbelievably easy even though we had a number of requests, changes and specifics – nothing seemed to be an issue and she made everything super stressfree!
The whole week at Mango for us and around 30 guests was so relaxing and fun and I’ve never stayed in a place anywhere in the world where the staff were so friendly and helpful – they went above and beyond expectations to make our stay and wedding absolutely awesome. We also loved that it was an adults only resort, not having children all over the place made it a lot more peaceful, but really appreciated that they made an exception for our 10 month old niece and even found us doting babysitters for during the later part of the wedding reception.
It was great having the option of all the activities (the crab racing night was my favourite!) or just finding one of the many tranquil ‘chairs in the air’ to just chill out and enjoy the atmosphere, it seemed like whatever your mood was there was always something to cater for it and someone to talk to – I’m sure the friendly enthusiasm of the staff rubbed off on all the guests because Mango seemed to attract a good bunch of people from all over the world.

There was some initial apprehension about the accommodation before we booked, but ended up loving our bure with its amazing views, natural charm and tropical shower. The safari tents were a really different and fun set up with a great sized deck perfect for chilling out on with your mates (and were the setting for a few great late nights!). The restaurant has a wonderful wide open tropical feel (not surprising as it’s a giant high ceilinged bure with two open sides) and an incredible view over the pool then the ocean which completely suits the consistently great food and the AMAZING seafood (best fish I’ve ever had!) – we definitely weren’t expecting anything that good as the resort is geared towards travellers on a budget so it was a welcome surprise. The kitchen raised the level even more for the wedding dinner which we’re still getting compliments on even now, you’d be hard pushed to find a better menu and quality of every course.

The worst part about the whole stay was leaving and I’ve been recommending the resort to everyone since we got back.
So if you’re thinking about spending some time up in Fiji no need to spend up large, stay away from the big concrete resorts and pay Claire, Danny and the team up at the Mango a visit for a fun relaxed time at a gorgeous resort with a constant feeling of happy hour!
