Comfortable, Modern and Good Value

The Hotel Tropical in Manaus, Brazil is a large, comfortable, modern hotel, even by US standards. The nearly 600 rooms offer air conditioning, mini-bars, cable TV and 24-hour room service, as well as many other modern amenities.
Food service includes two restaurants and three bars, and wireless internet is also available from designated locations for an additional fee.
In addition to the on-site hair salon, travel agency and jewelry store, Hotel Tropical has its own on-premises zoo which serves as a sanctuary for animals that are not able to return to the wild. It includes regional fauna such as monkeys, tropical birds and even jaguars!
The service throughout was superior, and though the price was not cheap (rooms started at $200/night), we found it to be a good value. Most of the staff spoke good English, and communication was not an issue.
Located just minutes from town and mere steps away from the Rio Negro, Hotel Tropical is an excellent, safe, modern choice to serve as home base for your Amazon adventures.
