Great Place in Kauai for Families

We just recently returned from a trip to Kauai. We split our time between a couple of places. Most of our trip we stayed in Poipu at The Villas at Poipu Kai. I have to say they are amazing! We were a bit worried that they might not be done as we booked several months ago and they were still finishing with the construction. We arrived to find them completely finished and very beautiful. The furnishings are first rate, very nice. We had everything we needed for our family (especially space - having my in-laws with us). There was a fully stocked kitchen. We had a washer and dryer in our unit - great thing to have when you have kids with you. We had one of the penthouse 4 bedroom units and with lanais on all sides of the unit, we had some pretty nice views - especially on new years eve with all the fireworks around. My wife and I - and the kids, enjoyed the pool and loved the waterfalls and pathways around the grounds. My kids especially enjoyed the pond and looking at the tadpoles swimming around.
These weren't ocean front or view but it was only a few minute walk to Poipu beach - the best beach for kids, by the way. I love ocean front living, but in this case, I am glad we opted for a newer rental with the comfort of air conditioning than something close to the beach but older and without ac.
All in all the unit was beyond perfect and the grounds were beautiful and fun. We are already planning our return vacation to the Villas!
