The town of Le Bec is charming with many thatched roofed houses nearby. The hotel is in the middle of town, making it easy to walk around the town before dinner. We had no reservation at the hotel and were shown a room on the second floor but it was somewhat stifling up there. We chose instead a room downstairs which was not as fancy but roomy and nice. The public rooms of the hotel were furnished appropriately for an 18th century country home and there is a lovely garden to sit in while waiting for dinner.
Dinner and breakfast were included in the tarif and were outstanding. I've discussed them in another review.
Walking around the town is interesting with the abbey to explore. We stopped along the way for a glass of their local cider which is very refreshing.
