Best Things Nearby:
The town of Aberfoyle is the closest village. It lies about an hour outside of Glasgow. Though Aberfoyle is a small place they do have a marvelous Scottish Wool Centre where they hold programs on many aspects of the wool industry and sheepherding. The timeshare is rather isolated by itself across from a beautiful loch with houses up the country road. It lies at the base of the highlands. Within an hours drive to the north are many lochs, castles, and gorgeous country side where historic Rob Roy resided. Stirling Castle of William Wallace fame is a delight to visit where they give talks on various topics such as proper kilt wear and sword fighting. Edinborough is approximately 2 hours to the east and along with being the capitol city there is upscale and trendy shopping and of course the castle which can be seen many miles away up on its high hill.

Best Things About the Resort:
This is a self contained resort with a luxury older hotel on-site on a hill overlooking a beautiful loch/lake. There is an in-door swimming pool, it was chilly even in summer, spa, indoor bowling, racquetball courts, billard room, bicycles for loan, and games to be borrowed. Upstairs in the rec center is a small bar/restaurant where there are daily and nightly activities ranging from Scottish music and dancing, to rock and roll, tea tastings, and story telling. It was quite the lively fun place. Our individual unit was a 3 bedroom whopper.

Resort Experience:
There were multiple large builidings each containing several timeshare units. Our unit was 3 bedrooms consisting of a main floor on the 2nd level of the building and an upstairs on the 3rd level. It was a very large place of about 1600 square feet. All the furnishings were of quality though not necessarily brand new. The living room was large with a very large leather sectional sofa, tables, and TV. One wall was beautiful built-in cabinets that housed the TV, a bar, closet, and fold down queen bed. In the same large room was a large heavy dining table and leather seated chairs. The kitchen was compact but well furnished and supplied with multiple electric wall sockets that each had it's own on/off switch for when you wished to use it. The refrigerator was small by U.S. standards, but ample for a week's vacation. One bathroom downstairs was dark with a space for showering with a pull closed shower curtain. Up a steep and high flight of stairs were all the bedroom. The first bedroom on the right of the stairs was large with a beautiful view of the mountain behind. It had a large closet and multiple dressers and vanity. It was beautifully decorated in pink and mint green. To the left of the stairs was the upstairs hall bathroom which was large with a wooden sauna/steam room and a large deep whirlpool bath. All the bathrooms had individual heating units and tile floors. The second bedroom was large with twin beds, small dresser, and a dormer window that you had to step up to with a seating area in front of it. There was a glorious view out this window across the property and to the loch. The Master bedroom, #3, was at the end of the small hall on the left of the stairs and it had a large bed with a large dresser. The private bathroom was small with a shower and small sink. There was no vanity or much counter space to set toiletries. There were no television sets upstairs. Though the unit was not new or luxurious, it was very comfortable and substantial seeming almost like an individual house.
