We have stayed on the Disney property and in many of the surrounding hotels, nothing compares to Reunion. We found the Disney hotels to be too over-packed and the benefits of the Disney transportation equated to waiting on long lines or over-crowding on the boats, buses and trams. Maybe if you are planning to do 100% Disney stuff it's worth staying on property but Orlando has so much to offer and you can still use ALL of the Disney restaurants and parks regardless of where you stay.
Why Ginn Reunion:
1, Something for everyone. Mom's have the spa, Dad's have the golf and the kids have a water park and an unbelievable kid's program. Not into any of those??? We stayed in one of the Reunion VIllas --- 3 huge bedrooms each with their own full bath. Stainless appliances and granite throughout. Relaxing balcony to unwind and enjoy a book or cigar.
2, Food - we did it all. We stopped at the grocery store and used the kitchen for a few meals and snacks. Full sized fridge is a nice bonus. The room service was super quick and easy. The restaurants were the best in Orlando.
3, Variety! You do not have to leave the property and it would be a home run (water park is not just slides and a lazy river - fun games for kids or quiet areas for adults). We hit discovery cove, animal kingdom, hoop de doo, magic kingdom, sea world and downtown disney. Rental car was SO MUCH BETTER than relying on the Disney transportation!
The place is brand new and super clean. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. They are trying to establish themselves and have a bunch of packages available. For a three bedroom with a pullout, flat panel tv's in all the rooms and all the stuff listed above, 3 nights, it was under $750 with the dream sampler package.
I don't think my family will ever vacation anywhere else, this place has it all.
