River Kwai Resotel

If not for the pier at the "resotel," anybody going down the river will be hard-pressed to spot this resort so well camouflaged among the lush jungle along the river. The resort is built with lots of conservation in mind. The spacious air-conditioned huts made of bamboo, concrete, and other natural material sit among a wealth of trees, plants, and bushes. So many of these were labeled, and their various uses labeled, and they even have a herbal garden. The clubhouse serves as a reception and restaurant area, and they are largely built with natural materials. Sitting there is almost like siting in the Thai civilisation museum, with so many artefacts and pictures decorating the house. Just for decor the resotel deserves an A. The service staff and waiters are all very pleasant and helpful, and I think they largely come from the Mnong tribe in Thailand. The resotel is a refreshingly beautiful place to stay, and anybody who is looking for a cool, quiet getaway would probably love to stay at the resotel. The rooms go for $32 and higher; it is truly a value for the money.
