From journal Two Weeks in Margarita
The first day the air conditioning broke down, the light over the sink was not working, they did not have the key to our safety box. The toilet handle and the towel holder broke off, and the television did not work properly. They moved us across to another room which had all of the above working. There is a telephone in the room, but it does not make calls out of the hotel, it is only to call other rooms or the receptionist. You have to go to the call centre and pay to make calls. Electricity went several days while we were there and the phones were down at one point. We were told these were normal events.
In spite of the above, once you settle in you get accustomed to the very comfortable, brightly painted surroundings and there was a wonderful family feel about the staff. The rooms were cleaned daily and the towels were also changed daily. You really need to use the safety deposit box because the cleaners come into your room up to three times a day unexpectedly.
