We arrived at the hotel at 8pm, and after a 12-hour flight, we were looking the worse for wear. As we had booked standard accommodations throughout our trip, we were amazed at our first sight and wondered if we were too unkempt-looking to be allowed in!
On checking in, our room was upgraded for free, and a porter escorted us upstairs with our luggage. Our room consisted of a king bed, fitted sofa with sliding coffee table, tea- and coffee-making facilities, and a minibar. The bathroom had wash basin, toilet, and bath with shower and plenty of toiletries and towels for two. Our window overlooked the back of the hotel, but as we were only there for two nights, this did not concern us.
The public lounge had plenty of sofas, and there was a restaurant which seemed to be open all day, from breakfast to late evening. There was also a bar where people were dancing. Our package included late checkout, and we were able to keep our room until 4pm on the day we left. We were a little away from the main area of Singapore, but it is safe to walk, and Raffles Hotel was only a 15-minute walk away, as was the Suntec City Mall. The whole place was spotlessly clean, and the staff was very friendly.
