Best Things Nearby:
Quick train ride into Florence if you want to see the sites, or just hike through the hills of Tuscany. Slightly out of the way if you're doing the Eurorail, since you have to call and schedule a pickup to the campground.

Best Things About the Resort:
The campground offers amazing views and an alternative to pricy and crowded city accommodations. Great place to stop by if you want a vacation from your vacation, as you don't feel pressured to rush through sites. There is a swimming pool and a restaurant/bar, so you can feel free to spend the day lounging around and drinking. Also, the nearby hills offer great hiking. They also have some fairly well-equipped RVs if you know to ask for them. They offer some bungalows with only a bedroom and a bathroom to share with another room and others that are more like family RVs with nice clean rooms and a kitchen. There are also courts for soccer, tennis,and beach volleyball, as well as a swimming pool with water slides.

Resort Experience:
Though a little out of the way from Florence/Firenze, Camping Girasole is a good deal if you want to avoid the tourist crowds and stay among the Tuscan hills. Incredible views of the Adriatic Sea are a bonus. The campground offers bungalows and RV-type accommodations which are adequate for a backpacker on a budget, or a family looking to stay somewhere for an extended period of time. It’s definitely a popular spot for European families in the summer.
