Rockley/Accra Beach - This amazing beach is right across the street from South Beach 1. This beach has to be one of the best beaches on the south side of the island. The sand is soft and white and the water is warm and a beautiful green and blue color. It just doesn't get much better than this.
You can rent chairs for about $2-$4 per day and umbrellas for about $5 per day.
Perhaps the best part is that there is no one peddling goods on the beach, so you can enjoy your day in complete peace and quiet, with only the sounds of the ocean to fill your ears.
Best Things About the Resort:
The best thing about South Beach I is its close proximity to Rockley/Accra Beach. You are at one of the nicest beaches in all of Barbados.
If you like calm waters then try the west side of the island. We personally love the waves, and found Rockley Beach to be the perfect beach for us.
Resort Experience:
South Beach I is a great resort. The staff are friendly and the accommodations are very nice. Each room has a view towards the ocean and all the amenities are great.
They have a great outdoor bar by the pool where they serve great drinks at affordable prices. The pool is right in front of the entrance to the hotel and is quite small - but then again, who needs a pool when one of the best beaches in the world is right across the street! The resort also has Internet access in the lobby, and each room has wireless Internet service. It was great to be able to check email!
The resort is located on a busy street, so if you are looking for a quiet stay, this is not the place for you. You will hear traffic, music from some local hangouts, and the taxi station across the street where drivers routinely play dominoes well into the night.
