This was a great 3-star hotel very centrally located in Paris--just steps away from the Arts et Metiers metro stop (route #11). The rate was very affordable since I travelled in August (I paid roughly $90 a night, though I understand the typical price is double this).
There is a beautiful little lobby with a person at the reception desk 24/7, and they are friendly, helpful, and know English. If it's nighttime, you will need to be buzzed in. There are some couches to sit on, and there is a shelf of books in all languages, including Paris tour guides to skim.
Up a few steps from the lobby is a breakfast area. Breakfast is not included in the price, and is 10 euros extra. I did not eat the breakfast and instead chose to buy croissants and coffee at cafés down the street.
While the whole hotel is wired with Wi-Fi computer access, they have a loaner laptop you can use in the lobby to surf the web.
As for the room, it was very nice and clean. You can control the a/c in the room. There is a TV mounted high up, and in addition there's a mini-fridge with beverages you can buy, or you can store more in there. Each room also has a safe for your valuables. The bed was a queen size, and there were nightstands on each side of the bed with lights, and also a phone. There's a small desk/table in the corner as well.
The bathroom was really nice, with a large bathtub as well for taking a soak after a long day of sightseeing! Soaps and shampoos were provided, and there was a hair dryer attached to the wall.
This hotel is in a very nice area, though a bit quiet in August. However, it was directly across the street from the metro so you can go anywhere from there. The hotel is located in the third arrondisement, walking distance from the trendy Marais. It also seemed to be in an Asian area, so there were great Chinese, Japanese, and Vietnamese restaurants right nearby.
I loved this place and I highly recommend it!
