Hanoi pacifc Hotel

I stayed with a group of students at the Pacific Hotel in Hanoi for about 20 days after spending one night in a horrific dive in the old quarter. The experience was excellent. They have a great location near both the train station and the major sites of the Old Quarter and the French Quarter, and the rooms feature Internet access, computers in the room, free fruit daily, a reasonably-priced minibar, and (in my case) a lovely balcony, as well as a very good free breakfast.

I was most impressed by the staff. Anh, the manager, is outstanding. The travel desk arranged our flights and tours without a hitch. They made everything easy. The only negative I can think of is that it can get a little noisy at rush hour (as a consequence of its good location), but this is really not a big issue, at least not for me. For the price, the Pacific gives a great deal more value than more expensive hotels.
