Audubon State Park

Six secluded cottages in Audubon State Park are nestled along the wooded shoreline of a recreational lake. Each 1-2 bedroom cottage has a fireplace, living room, porch, fully equipped kitchen, full bath, linens, television, telephones, and air-conditioning. Just bring your groceries.

Coveted cottage #102 sits centerstage on a protruding point with panoramic views of the entire lake. Both cottages #102 and #101 have expansive grassy areas, great for frisbee, playing catch, hosting family gatherings or small weddings.

It is very peaceful to stay here, looking out at the calming stillness of the water surrounded by large trees, listening to birds that likely captivated James Audubon when he wandered around these woods in his twenties and thirties. You can be as lazy or active as you choose. Step outside your door and hike along a trail that meanders around the 28 acre lake, or hike the several trails behind the museum. Fish for bluegill, bass or catfish from shore. Visit Audubon''s art museum. Play a round of golf at the 9 hole course, open year round. Play tennis. Rent canoes or paddleboats in the summer.

Fall colors peak around the third week of October, and reservations fill up quickly.
