The Westin was absolutely beautiful. Upon arrival, the place immediately struck me as classy and attentive. The hotel is beautifully decorated, and even though it was close to spring break time, it was never overly crowded.
The outside pool area is the most beautiful on Grand Cayman, I’m convinced, and the Westin has the largest beachfront and the most beautiful, even according to most locals! The beach was never crowded and there was always a lounge chair available without having to get up at 6am to secure one! This is different from the Hyatt, where people were literally stacked next to one another like sardines on the beach. Plus, the Westin is right on the beach, the only hotel like that.
The ocean sports, like wave runners and kayaking, were right there on the beach through the Red Sail company, and the beach bar is in close proximity, with beach waitress service if you want. Sometimes it can be hard to get a waitress’s attention, though. You can have lunch brought to you. Although they don’t serve burgers, the food is more deli stuff like salads, wraps, and panini breads.
The rooms were beautiful. Even the smallest room in the place was roomy and the bathrooms are large. The beds are "heavenly," just as they're tagged, and the rooms are very comfortable. The place is nicely decorated and we constantly saw people manicuring it to keep it up. The hotel is just across the street from a general store, a dive shop, a bar, and a cool ’50s-style place with great food.
Overall, the Westin is, in my eyes, the best place to stay on Grand Cayman, although VERY pricey.
