VIlla Huetares is the perfect place to stay for families on a slight budget. The location is a 5 minute walk down the road to Playa Hermosa one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. It is also 20 minutes from Aeropuerto International Daniel Oduber which has flights to and from New York, Los Angeles and Houston on major United States airlines including American Airlines, Delta, and Continental. It is also within driving distance to surfing destinations like Tamarindo and national parks like Rincon de La Vieja. The atmosphere in Villa Huetares is just like the atmosphere in all of Costa Rica-warm, inviting, friendly, helpful, and caring.
At Villa Huetares there are two types of rooms - villas/cabinas and habitaciones/rooms. The rooms have two queen sized bed, cable TV, air-conditioning, refrigerator, and private bathrooms. The villas have two bedrooms each with 1 queen and 1 twin sized beds, a full kitchen and dining area, cable TV, air-conditioning, and private bathroom. The condition of the room was very good. The hotel has a Jacuzzi, a pool, a baby pool, a basketball court, pool table, and restaurant. The restaurant has American favorites like french fries and hamburgers as well as traditional Costa Rican delicacies such as Arroz Con Pollo and Fried Plantains. The service at the hotel is excellent. I remember in one case we got locked out of our room at 1:30 in the morning the staff woke up and worked on our lock until it finally opened.
The staff at VIlla Huetares will go out of their way to make you feel at home. During your stay you will see the maintenance crew fixing things that look like they are in pristine condition. I would recommend this hotel to families who are on a budget. There is a small, basic grocery store next door which allows guest to buy many things for their rooms. Families can cook for themselves every meal if they wish. You can see pictures online at www.villahuetares.com.
