Buffet at Whiskey Pete's

My Wife and I usually eat at Bill's Buffet, it is clean and well kept and had very good service and the food is good. We wanted to try something different so we went to Whiskey Pete's to eat and do some gambling after...

While the food was ok, it was not to our liking , mainly because the dishes had food left on them , they appeared to have been washed, but we saw food still left on three plates in the plates area, there was no one to serve us drinks, so after 5 minutes we got our own drinks, I could not find any clean glasses in the drinks area they where out of glasses I got a cup from the cup container they appeared to be clean, however, when I got my coffee I found a piece of paper in the bottom of the cup.

The gravy was not eatable I like mashed potatoes, with gravy, the gravy looked dried out and had been there for a while, I could not even think of putting it on my potatoes, the meat which was some kind of beef had a thin skin on it which made it hard to cut into it, the white sheth of skin had not been trimmed off the beef, the chicken was dry and there was no breast only Legs, these things happen, I got an Omolet with cheese, the Cooking station was a little messy , the eggs where cooked very done, and the cheese was not melted, when I cut into it, the cheese came out un- melted, I could not eat it, the desert of Coconut pie was Frozen solid, I could not eat it too hard to cut! NO ONE was there to serve it, I had to go behind the counter and get my own, after waiting over five minutes, I noticed everyone just going into the closed desert display and getting their own deserts,
we did not eat at the Buffet we went back to Bill's to eat and Gamble I was not happy with the Buffet at Pete's I saw no one who seemed in charge or I would have talked to them about the poor service and Food. Clean plates and cups, and good service are very important ,this buffet needs a supervisor to watch over it.

We are planning to move back home from Las Vegas to Minnesota but we did not want to spend money on another months rent so we opted to stay in a hotel because we would only be here another week. My husband is still working in Primm, so we decided to stay here because it was close to his work, and it is really affordable. Whiskey Pete's is a very old hotel, it looks like an old style castle, quite beautiful. It is a hotel and casino, all in one. It is located in Primm, Nevada, 35 minutes south of Las Vegas, right on the Nevada and California border. There is not a lot of things to do in Primm. There are three hotels and casinos, an outlet mall, and a handful of fast food and gas stations. It is pretty much in the middle of the desert.

Check in was very smooth, we gave them our conformation number and we were handed our keys. You will need a credit card for the room, and they run your card for a deposit. The rooms are quite large, and run between $30-$40 a weekday night. We were on the 10th floor, the hotel has 19 floors.

There was a couple of things I did not like about the hotel. The first is that we requested a smoking room, and it was really sprayed with air freshener, for several years. The smell was pretty bad. I walked down to the ice machine and wanted some ice but you need to insert your room key before it will dispense any ice. It took about 20 seconds after I inserted my card and gave me like 10 ice cubes. Needless to say I was there for a long time to get a full bucket of ice.
The outdoor pool is incredible. If you are traveling with the family I would recommend you check out the pool, one of the best I have ever seen. It includes a fun waterslide. They also have a whirlpool, and the pool is outdoors. You can also purchase affordable wireless Internet if you want to stay connected, really cheap. If you are looking for a cheap hotel stay I would recommend staying at Whiskey Petes, but if you are looking for luxury, I would not.
