After a beautiful day around Glencolumbkille, we checked into Millstone Guest Accommodation for the night. It was the perfect afternoon for tea, but I opted to put on my sneakers, leave the rest of the group, and run back to the beach I saw earlier across from the Folk Village Museum [see separate entry] to catch the sun set. Imagine a beach in Ireland! Imagine blue skies clear enough to watch the afternoon fade away! I was a very happy girl!

Millstone is a comfortable home that gave me an impression of Italy, with its archway in the hall and delicate tilework on the floor. I had my own bathroom in my room and also a TV, which I only used to check the local time.

It was close enough to Biddy's Bar, where we ended up spending the rest of our night after dinner drinking and listening to a couple sing and play their guitar and harmonica. (I say close enough because I was able to walk home when I knew I had already had too much to drink.) It was one of my favorite nights in Ireland because I witnessed how the locals were, even with new visitors like us sharing their space. They were so welcoming; they would ask for our song requests, and the entire bar would stop their conversations and sing along with the rest of the pub.
