We paid a special rate--after negotiations by Sarah--of 1,500P (US$25) per night, almost half of the advertised rate! We really enjoyed our stay there. The swimming pool is great. Each cottage has a veranda with hammock, so we could relax every evening after diving. The rooms were cleaned almost every day.
The only thing to keep in mind is that it is Japanese-owned, and they love rules for everything. They want payment for your stay in advance, no walking on the grass, you’re not allowed to bring your own drinks, etc. They even have you sign these rules.
I never pay for my stay in advance, and certainly not if I am staying for two weeks. So every morning, we were asked if we were going to check-out today until we paid for the rest of our stay. And I bring my own drinks, certainly if the minibar is more expensive then the sari-sari store around the corner. But after we paid for our stay, we found out that the staff was very friendly and that the rules are not so strictly enforced.
I can certainly recommend Alice if you like to have a bit more luxury.
