I found Barrio latino by surfing several travel blogs, and i wanted to try.
Booking service was surprising and safe, I booked the room I wanted and when I got there it was even better than expected! I will go back again.

this place is a gem. If you visit Playa del Carmen you should consider to sleep there and spend your extra money in drinks and food: but it doesn't mean the place is a modest one, the garden and the colourful rooms reoresent a five star service at half price! I will go back!
Playa del CarmenHotel Barrio Latino
I spent my holiday in Playa del Carmen at Hotel Barrio Latino, a beautiful spot I found in The Lonely Planet and Petit Fute. I spent a lot of time in the hotel, in the breakfast area, in my hammock, and in my room because it looked like the home I have always wanted: Clean , colorful, and quite.
I was afraid of finding it noisy, but the good surprise was that it was in one of the quietest blocks between the vibrant nightlife in Playa and... the restaurants - the one at their side - is out of business forever. New owners won't build in years, and will be a big house, not a business anymore. So go and enjoy Barrio Latino! I found great prices on the web page-

About $70 a night. Nice, clean room with bathroom, fan, and a/c, but no TV. Close to beaches and shopping. The beaches in Playa del Carmen are all public, so you can go anywhere along the beach--you don't need to pay extra to stay on top of one. The only complaint I have about this hotel is that the neighboring restaurant was very loud all night long.
