This is a lovely apartment complex right in the heart of Playa de Los Muertos. One block from the main pier, you can see the ocean from your balcony. It isn’t fancy…no A/C, but with the breeze from the ocean, you rarely feel the need for one. Ceiling fans are installed and keep things cool and moving. There is a kitchen (fridge, oven, stove), and it is outfitted with necessary items to eat in as frequently as you wish. There is no dishwasher, which for some is an issue, but for us was simply no problem at all.

We stayed in a one bedroom unit, with a king bed in the bedroom. The living area is not large, but has a dining table, and couch and daybed. We had five people in our room, fairly comfortably (my 15 year old son slept on a blow up bed we brought with us and was very comfy). There is a television, but no phone.

This is a place that you can come to and feel like you really are getting away. The feeling is hard to describe. We have stayed in very fancy 4 star hotels in other places, but this place is sort of home away from home. The rates are very reasonable (give them a call or visit their website at www.viejovallarta.com/CasaMariaElenaIF.php. I suggest you go and explore. Save your money for the great cuisine and sites, and realize you won’t be spending a lot of time in your room! Also, try out Cuates Y Cuetes, just down the road at the edge of the pier!
