Description: We stopped at the Lodge Kura Hulanda and Beach Club for lunch as a part of our tour.
Our guide led us through the lobby and down some sidewalks to the open air seating of the Christoffel Terrace. I was a little disappointed that we were not sitting inside in air conditioning at first, but the constant breeze kept us comfortable, and the panaromic view of the water was amazing. The restaurant sits on a high cliff looking over the ocean. We were lucky enough to be sitting at the row of tables closest to the water, which made our lunch one of the most peaceful meals we've had in a while. There were some snorkelers in the water, but with the beach area being so small below, there were not many.
The tables were set up for groups of four people, which made for a nice quiet lunch with my husband, especially since we came here with a tour group. (So many tours that I have been on, lunch has been 10-20 strangers making small talk; this privacy allowed us to sit back and really enjoy our meal.) There were resort guests also at the restaurant, so it was not only our group dining for lunch that day.
Our server, Madelon, was friendly, but, like many people in Curacao, a little shy. She was prompt without hovering and very pleasant when we interacted.
Our meal was very good, with servings being enough, but not too much. I had a club sandwich, and my husband had a grilled chicken sandwich. I had an Presidente beer, and my husband had two Polar beers. Our total check was $40.86, the tip being included on our bill. Prices are listed in both American dollars and in Florins. I felt that this was a reasonable price, for the quality of the restaurant and the view. It is important to note that we ate off the lunch menu. The dinner menu (both available online) would probably have been more than I would care to spend on a typical meal, but on vacation, I could see splurging to eat during sunset.
If you go here, pay attention to what path you are taking when walking among the grounds. The sidewalks seem to go off in all areas, so I can see how one might lose their way.
I definitely would recommend this restaurant if you come to Curacao. It is important to note that it is in Westpunt, so you will want to pair this with other activities. (Note: the Kura Hulanda Museum is not here, it is in Willemstad.) You can view the menu at http://www.kurahulanda.com/en/lodge/lodge-restaurants-a-bars. Enjoy your meal!
