Aloha Beach Hotel Kauai

The hotel is clean, within walking distance to the beach, and very quiet.

The staff were very nice, polite, and very helpful with directions and planning your day.

It has a breakfast buffet and the food was good. We felt the nice breeze of the ocean and air.

The hotel style is like a Polynesian style. It has free Internet by the lobby and is close to a shopping center.

First, this is not a deluxe hotel. In fact it barely lives up to the description on its own website. If you want a nice hotel stay at the Hyatt. If you want a great location and great rates stay here. We have stayed 4 times and never paid more than $150 a night.

The rooms are perfectly acceptable. The shower is the only minus as it is just a stall and there is no tub. Honestly, it's just a basic hotel room. A good nights sleep with no frills.

What the Aloha has going for it in spades is location. It is right next to the Lydgate State Park where there is a small sea wall built to create a swim area protected from the surf. It is also about halfway on the main highway around the island.

Picture this, you wake up with the sunrise and walk a short walk across a grass field to the ocean and hop right in to the peaceful water and swim as the sun rises. It doesn't get any better than that, folks. We have done this almost everyday we have stayed in Kauai.

My best tip would be to stay here for most of you r trip, then stay at the Hyatt for a night or two. Kauai is a place to explore. If you stay at the Hyatt you are not going to want to leave the hotel grounds.

We had a large ocean-view room with a king bed. The view was OK, but would have been better had we been above the first floor. We couldn't open our sliding glass door because it had an alarm system attached to it. Again...had we been on another level, we could have opened the door to allow for the wonderful fresh air. The room was clean, and the staff were very friendly.
