Raffles Tradewinds Hotel

This place had obviously seen better days. Not a great experience, which is how we'd describe our day in Suva. The crowded city didn't have much to offer us and our hotel, located a few miles out of town, didn't offer much either. Maybe I'm just saying that because a dreary haze hung over the place the day we were there. Anyway, the room was small and the towels and bed were musty. The view might have been nice, had the weather been good, but on a dreary day it was unremarkable. The dining was average.

Unless you, like me, want to do Suva because you don't believe what everyone else says about this side of the island, and you're convinced you'll find something beautiful and redeeming about it, spend your time in the outer islands, on a cruise to the Yasawas, on Taveuni, or in a lush resort. Suva doesn't have much to offer except the opportunity for you to say you saw the two biggest cities on the island instead of just Nadi.
