Inn at Glencairn

I often visit Princeton on business and usually stay in a chain hotel on Route 1. Someone recommended a new Bed-and-breakfast near town called the Inn at Glencairn. I was very pleasantly surprised. The Inn is an 18th century home that was recently converted into a Bed-and-breakfast. My room was spotless; the bath was brand new, and the were fixtures high end. The bed was unbelievably comfortable. The Inn has WiFi throughout, so it was very easy to use my laptop. I was meeting someone the night before and we were able to have a meeting in one of the common rooms, which was extremely private and cozy. The breakfast was great—a full breakfast—not just muffins and juice. That day the innkeeper was making eggs benedict which he served with a fresh fruit plate, yogurt smoothie, and great coffee. The innkeeper was very accommodating, without being intrusive. I will definitely return to the Inn, and highly recommend it to anyone traveling in the Princeton area.

What a find! In an area full of average accommodations, the Inn at Glencairn provides a place this business traveler actually looked forward to returning to after work. Set in a 1736 manor house, I was pleased to find a comfortable parlor and great room in which I could sit, relax, read, and try to imagine what it was like to live in this house 250-years-ago. While charming and comfortable, I was pleased to find wireless internet, a television, and my own bathroom in my room. The Inn and the grounds are picturesque, and I truly felt as if I were on vacation even while away on business. I just wish I could have brought my family.

The innkeeper, Bob, made an amazing breakfast, and I nibbled on the cookies he left in the dining room when I returned. The crackers and cheese, grapes, and wine in the evening were also a nice touch. Having stayed at less desirable digs in town in the past, I really didn't mind the 3-mile drive into town, which was closer than the Route 1 hotels I stayed in before. I found the entire set-up to be most convenient and inviting, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Best of luck to this newcomer.
