I stayed in Baltschug Kempinski in November 2006 as I visited my friends in Moscow and fully enjoyed that time. Everything – from design to service – matched the highest standards of a luxurious 5-star hotel. The friendly staff and excellent service made staying in this hotel an absolute pleasure.
The room was supremely comfortable for my 14-days stay. The view from my hotel room was breathtaking and unique – St. Basil’s cathedral and Kremlin – just across the river. Besides, the subway can be accessed in 2 minutes, what made moving across Moscow absolutely easy.
Baltschug provides high service in all spheres. Besides, the spa offered excellent massages for reasonable rates and very good skin treatment in its beauty centre that I would recommend to all guests. The staff always tried to be helpful and made my stay very pleasant.
The quality of the furnishings and amenities in my room were of the highest standard. I would advise to request a room on the side with a view over the Kremlin.
Finally, I would like to say that my stay at the Hotel Baltschug Kempinski Moscow was absolutely worth paying the rate and left me with pleasant memories.

I Got Everything I Expected

I stay in Moscow regularly for business (generally for couple of nights) and have stayed at a range of the city's hotels over time, including in the main business area .
Check-in was polite and efficient . Rooms have been laid out with a lot of thought and respect to detail, especially for fittings and lighting + marble bathrooms are great .
With the dig now over, access by foot from the main city center business and/or shopping area is easy, despite the riverfront location.

After taking the overnight train from St. Petersburg, we were anxious to get to the hotel, so we were very glad when the driver of the car we had requested the hotel to arrange for us was there waiting for us. After a 40 minute drive, we arrived at the Kempinski Baltschug, with its wonderful view of the Kremlin and St. Basil’s Cathedral.
The hotel lobby is large and business-like, with many seats. Some nights there was live music - you may seat and listen without being pushed to order a drink. If you do, be prepared to pay dearly for well-prepared concoctions. Check-in was efficient, although the clerk indicated that we would have to pay extra if we wanted our room before 10am - so we waited.
The rooms are large and nicely decorated a-la Westin. Our room did not have a Kremlin view, but the city view was quite pleasant. Bottled water is provided daily free of charge. Many toiletries, and slippers, are also provided. Room service was efficient but very expensive. The TV had only two English-speaking channels, but with so many attractions, who needs more? Wireless Internet access is available at a high price.
The hotel location is just great - walking distance to Red Square, the Tretyakov Gallery, and more than one metro station. The neighborhood is up and coming and full of new restaurants and coffee shops. I can't wait to be back to Moscow and stay here again.
