On a Christmas vacation to Ecuador, our family needed a spot in Quito as home base between visits to the Galapagos, the Amazon Jungle, and Otovalo/Quito in the mountain zone on Ecuador. We were looking for something that was nice yet representative of the country. We arrived after a day of travel at 11:30. The front fence was locked, the doorman/security man was asleep and never offered to help with luggage. The hotel is located near a very busy street with noisy traffic around the clock. Front of hotel (and our room for the night) is located next to a house of ill repute which had clientele visiting until after 2pm. And then there was the car alarm that went off every 15 minutes all night causing the dog across the street to bark. When leaving the next morning at 6:30am and inquiring about the noise, the front desk person just shrugged. No services were available at 11:30pm or 6:30am. Hot water for showers was limited. Cleanliness was OK, but limited. Rooms were small. Try another hotel.
