Great Stay

I truly enjoyed my stay. The staff was very helpful and polite. The room was relatively small but it was just myself and a friend from the area so it worked. Very clean and well kept. I liked the small pool area, at times it felt like it was my own private area. The continental breakfast was good (better than your usual apple, bagel, and bad coffee). The location was perfect close enough (but not too close) to the clubs on Washington and Ocean Drive. Everywhere that's worth going is in walking distance. I would definitely stay again. The price was decent and I booked at the last minute. If you want something extremely fancy, I guess you could pay a lil more but who goes to SoBe for the hotel? Use the extra money for a drink at Fat Tuesday.
Bad stay

We read the reviews on the website boasting a quiet place with a restaurant (not open) Oh and no ice in the hotel....couldn't even get a glass of ice for your room. Colorful rooms...no. We booked a deluxe room that said it was larger with a pool view. We got a room facing the street. It was soooo loud ALL night up to 5AM we got very little sleep. then the worst part....my boyfriends wallet was stolen from the car while in the valets care. He left it in the car glove box with only one credit card but social security cards and other personal information. To make matters worse, when he called the hotel to tell them, they didn't even apologize, just said they contracted the valet out and to call them!
We would NEVER stay there again.
South Beach Hot, Hotel Not So Hot

If you are staying here and arrive on a Fri or Sat night, be prepared to go searching for parking, no valet was in attendance, hotel has no parking of their own. There is a parking garage about a block away that charges $ a day, if you show your hotel receipt, but once you park, be prepared to leave your car in the lot--there is no in and out once you park. Although the hotel is clean, there is no gym and the pool is the size of a large hot tub with only about 6 lounge chairs. Our room one on the end of one wing, so we had a less than lovely view of the back alley trash bins with a daily 7 AM wake up by the dumpster truck, plus nightly car alarms going off, people yelling down the alley, party goers hollaring, all and all pretty noisy. Since the bathroom window glass was broken in one corner, the noise was even louder than it would have been if the window had not been broken. When we asked for the discount for the restaurant, they were out of them. The front desk did not call in my wake up time correctly, and I was given a call to wake up an hour later than I requested and almost missed my return flight. There is constant construction going on around this hotel, if you want quiet and a nice pool, forget this one.

Everyone from the door man to the desk staff and dining room people were friendly and helpful. This was my second time there and it will not be the last.
It is an old hotel but is very well maintained, clean and an excellent value.

Very nice for the price. Nice clean room, great staff, great area away from the crazy Ocean Drive. Great coffee. Be warned, breakfast is over at 10am. Overall if you are looking for a mid-priced hotel it's perfect!
