This youth hostel in the Potsdam suburb of Berlin is located within minutes of Babelsberg station on the S-Bahn S1 line that runs from the center of Berlin. Arriving at night, we had no problems finding the hostel as Schulstrasse is marked as an exit from the station. Although the street runs alongside the tracks, we were totally unaware of any train noise.
The hostel is a new, bright and clean building. Included is typical German breakfast fare of bread and rolls with cheese and cold cuts or jam as well as cereals, boiled eggs, and tomatoes, and cucumber. While the coffee was not bad, "orange juice" was a colored liquid with artificial sweetener.
A big advantage is that Babelsberg is one station from the end of the S1 line and is very convenient for visiting Potsdam, an important consideration if you want to make an early start and beat the crowds.
