Really Great Place in Nantucket

After an enjoyable five day stay in 2007 we decided to return for a week in the summer of 2008. We were joined by another couple joined us and we had a fabulous time. The island is so beautiful and Century House made it special. Century House is a very hospitable bed and breakfast but not over the top. It's also located in a great area of town, close to the beach and downtown, loved walking into town on cobblestone streets. Very pleasant atmosphere; I don't think we have stayed in a quieter place before. It is an old charming bed and breakast, with so much history. The rooms are completely renovated and gorgeous with their own private bath, and they're not closet size either. We had a refrigerator in the room and my book-worm husband enjoyed glancing at the book collection. Property is very well-maintained. We enjoyed sitting on the porch with Nantucket summer breezes, and morning cool air while having breakfast. The staff is always courteous and helpful. Cannot wait to go back.

The Place to Stay in Nantucket...

This has been the place to go away on vacation for me and my wife for several years. Great location! Central to everything...the beach, the restaurants, and the downtown. We would highly recommend it because all the rooms we stayed in so far were very nice, quiet and large with comfortable beds. One room in particular, the Red Dhalia is great. The king size bed was probably the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. The rooms have AC and although most days we don't need it, when we did, it worked great! The bathrooms are a good size with nice showers. The floors are restored and like new.
Each morning coffee is available around 6 am. I am in charge of bringing a cup of fresh coffee to our room and that's how my wife and I start the morning. We go down for breakfast around 8:30 am and normally we sit out on the porch having Gerrys delicious granola and fruit.

The staff is always helpful and friendly. Overall we love the bed and breakfast atmosphere. We go back home very relaxed. And we look forward to our vacation this year.

We were here for a week last August and we had an excellent vacation. We want to recommend this beautiful inn in Nantucket to others. We are planning to return this summer in August. Even though it is a busy time for the island, we love the location and wouldn't stay anywhere else. We stayed in Crocus Room and absolutely love it. The room has its own entrance, opening into the a patio area. It's comfortable, luxurious, quiet, and beautifully decorated; and it also has a little refrigerator. The inn is very charming with a lot of history. The innkeepers treat you as if you are part of their family and area always very helpful and welcoming. Looking forward to another vacation here.

20th Wedding Anniversary

We are happy to recommend this inn to anyone looking for a place to celebrate an anniversary. We were here for the 20th wedding anniversary here, a gift from our son. We were very happy to spend five nights in July when the roses were in bloom. The island is very charming from the moment you step off the ferry: little roads, blooming flowers everywhere, cool weather, and beautiful skies. The inn is withing walking distance with beautiful decor, quite large, quaint, and welcoming. The innkeepers had champagne waiting for us and little chocolates. What a nice little surprise. They served snacks in the early evenings and they had complimentary drinks through the day. And you I can't forget the cookies. Delicious! The breakfast is also unlike any we've had, a buffet of berries. We walked downtown to the little shops, layed out on the beach during the day, and relaxed on the porch area in the evenings. We enjoyed our king size room with a comfortable bed, so comfortable I wanted my husband to buy one for us. The inn is very historic with a lot of antique furniture and old charm. Since both of us are into antiques, we loved it. It was one of the best vacations we've ever had and we'd love to come back someday.
