This is a very nice hotel recently refurbished, that figures as a two-star hotel but that really deserves 3 stars. It is centrally located but quiet, has a good (but expensive) restaurant. I paid some 17 dollars for a single room with private bathroom and cable TV, including breakfast at a fashionable cafeteria in front of the main square (half a block away). Excellent price value.
I have also stayed at the Hotel Quintana (4 stars, very nice), that also has a small swimming pool, where a standard room with private bathroom and cable TV costs 40 dollars per night, and at the Gran Hotel San Luis (3 stars) that I would not recommend because it is not in a quiet area.
In my opinion, the Plaza Pringles hotel has the best price value, is half a block away from the main square, and in the shopping area. Everything is near. These are the main hotels in San Luis:

Avoid the hotels in front of the bus station, their service is very poor, rooms do not have TV, some do not have even a private bathroom, and they charge far more than they are really worth.
Enjoy your stay in San Luis.
