Rising Sun Motor Inn

The Rising Sun Motor Inn is situated at the east end of Glacier National Park (US) about 5 miles from the east entrance to the park. It is what its title suggests...a motor inn. It has a few separate buildings that contain about 15 rooms each. There are also cottages available. The main building contains the registration desk, gift shop, and restaurant. There is a building across the parking lot that has a sundry shop.

We stayed in a queen-size room. It was VERY simple. NO TV, NO phone, NO Internet, NO A/C. But you go to the park to get away from all that, and we spent very little time in the room, so it was manageable. The bed was hard, but hey, for the location, the place was just fine.

It is 2 miles from the lookout to Wild Goose Island, the picture-perfect location in the park. And about 10 miles from Logan Pass.

The maid service was adequate, and we never were without necessities provided at normal motels. We would stay again, not for the hotel's amenities, but for the prime location to everything you'd want to do in the park.
