Dostoevsky Hotel

A lovely centrally located hotel in the heart of St Petersburg. The location was key as we were able to walk to main road (Nevsky Prospect). From there you can easily catch a bus down to the Hermitage and the lovely Neva River. Also there is a metro station within walking distance. My only problem with the location was perhaps it was lacking in places to eat in the close vicinity, but then again you can't have your cake and eat it too right?

The Hotel itself was very nice, the rooms were spacious and overlooked a nice courtyard (watch out for the hotel hosting parties as they can echo through the courtyard and be loud throughout the night). Their services too were very nice, the room service came promptly and there was a nice ice (a rare luxury in Russia) machine just down the hall.

The concierge was helpful, albeit they were not catering to a more down to earth tourist (their were rather shocked when we wanted to take the bus somewhere), in fact we ended up getting better information from the front desk.

All in all I would definitely consider staying there again, if I ever get the chance to go back to the lovely city.
