This hotel feels like you stepped into "Romeo and Juliet". It's gorgeous, decorated in deep reds and dark wood, lush fabrics and antiques. The service was excellent, and the concierge helped us choose restaurants, tours, shops, etc. The lobby is stunning, with lots of velvet chairs and love seats to relax in. Every afternoon they served tea and cookies.
The hotel was very private, we rarely saw or heard any other guests even though the hotel was full. The guests tended to be more middle-aged. There was one other American family and they had 3 kids, and they were very annoying and out of place!
Each morning we had breakfast in the dining room. It was a buffet with lots of fresh fruit, cereals, pastries, so much food! And delicious.
We stayed in the angel suite (see photo), which was magnificent. Kitschy and gaudy but in a completely charming and romantic way. Not sure what the rest of the rooms are like.
The hotel's location was perfect, just a short walk to Piazza San Marco, the main hub of activity. It's also near the other nice hotels, like the Danieli. We would definitely go back.
