In Trancoso, we stayed at an amazing place called Estrel A'gua, a little upscale but definitely worth it. The beach was just steps away, and there were romantic rooms and delicious food and drinks. In Itacare, we stayed in a more traditional pousada with one bed and one bathroom. It was called Pousade Belfort and owned by one of the better-known local surfers. It had a pool and a great Brazilian breakfast every morning.
